Criminal Records Criminal Records The mission of the Criminal Records Unit is to obtain, store, and disseminate Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) on all criminal arrests and dispositions of individuals charged with a criminal offense in New Hampshire.

The state agency will submit, as one package, the NH CHRI form, the fee payment, and either the inked fingerprint card or LiveScan form to the State Police Criminal Records Unit. A NH state criminal history record check is also required. (Form DSSP 394) Hawkers, Peddlers, & Vendors. RSA 31: 102-a and RSA 31: 102-b Powers and Duties of Towns - This statute also requires a municipal ordinance authorized by the FBI, predicated upon a state "umbrella" statute. (Form DSSP 390)

The state police Criminal Records Unit does not make fitness determinations. Disqualifiers for employment or professional licensing are made by the hiring agency/entity or licensing board. When I request a New Hampshire CHRI does that also include an inquiry to all the other states?

All criminal record checks are done at the NH State Police Criminal Records Department, (603-223-3867). The Concord office is open M-F 8:15 to 4:00. A photo ID and a $25 fee is required to obtain a copy of the record. All motor vehicle record checks are done through the DMV.
